If you need an emissions test in Las Vegas, you are in the right place. Smog Busters has been the valley’s most trusted emissions testing provider since 1988. With 32 walk-in locations spread across Las Vegas, Henderson, and North Las Vegas, there is always one close to you.
You do not need an appointment at any location. Pull up during business hours, and your results are submitted electronically to the Nevada DMV when the test is complete. You can also handle your vehicle registration renewal at the same visit.
Does Las Vegas Require Emissions Testing?
Yes. Las Vegas is in Clark County, Nevada, and Clark County requires annual emissions testing for most registered vehicles. If your vehicle is a gasoline-powered car, truck, or SUV that is model year 1968 or newer and registered in Clark County, you will need an emissions test before renewing your registration every year.
Your Nevada DMV renewal notice will indicate whether a test is required for your vehicle this cycle. If you are not sure, bring it in or call us at (702) 436-5346.
What Is Included in a Las Vegas Emissions Test?
Your technician will connect your vehicle to a state-certified emissions analyzer. The test measures hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide, and other pollutants from your vehicle’s exhaust system against Nevada air quality standards. When the test is complete, your Vehicle Inspection Report is submitted electronically to the Nevada DMV.
Most tests at Smog Busters are done in about 15 minutes. You stay in or near your vehicle the entire time.

Nevada State Authorized Since 1988
Smog Busters is fully licensed, bonded, and authorized by the State of Nevada to perform emissions testing across Clark County. Every location uses state-certified equipment and submits results electronically to the Nevada DMV at the moment your test is complete.
If your vehicle does not pass, we offer smog repair services at select locations. Qualifying vehicles may also be eligible for the Nevada Smog Free Clark County program, which provides up to $975 in repair assistance for income-eligible drivers.
